Shipping
Yes! We offer free standard/ground shipping on orders over $150 to the contiguous United States. Please note that kayaks and select oversized items cannot be shipped and are only available for in-store purchase or online purchase with free in-store pickup. See "What items cannot be shipped?" below for the full list.
Most orders ship the following business day. If you place your order before noon Central Time, we can often ship it the same day! Shipping times are calculated in business days — weekends and holidays don't count. Standard delivery typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your location.

We primarily ship via UPS and FedEx. You'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order is on its way.
Absolutely. We've been shipping nationwide since we launched mountainsports.com in 1996. From Alaska to Florida, we've got you covered. For international shipping inquiries, please contact us directly.
Some oversized or heavy items may require additional shipping charges. We'll never surprise you — if there's an extra cost, we'll reach out before shipping to confirm. Please note that certain large items like kayaks and heavy equipment cannot be shipped at all and are only available for in-store purchase or online purchase with in-store pickup. Returns & Exchanges
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You may return items within 30 days of purchase for a refund, exchange, or store credit. Items must be unused and in their original condition with all tags, packaging, and accessories intact.
It's easy! Returns and exchanges are free for 30 days from the day you receive your order, and the fastest way to get started is in our returns portal— no account login needed. Just enter your order number and shipping zip code, pick the item(s) you'd like to return or exchange, and we'll generate a prepaid shipping label for you.

Yes! Exchanges are free for 30 days from delivery, and the easiest way to start one is in our returns portal. You can swap for a different size, color, or even a different product, subject to availability. We'll send a prepaid return label and get your replacement on its way as soon as your original item is headed back to us.

For safety reasons, the following items are non-returnable unless they arrive defective:
- Climbing gear (harnesses, carabiners, ropes, etc.)
- Food items
- Water filters
- Cut cord/rope
- Special order items
We do — for the most part! Returns and exchanges are free for 30 days from the day you receive your order. When you start your return in our portal, we'll provide a prepaid shipping label at no cost to you for standard items.
One exception: a small number of oversized items (large tents, certain hard goods, bulky equipment, paddles) carry a flat $40 return shipping fee. We make this clear upfront during your online ordering process, so you'll know before you check out if an item is considered oversized and will have the $40 return fee. If you decide to return this item, the $40 fee will come out of your refund, exchange, or store credit. You'll see it again in the returns portal when you start your return, so nothing catches you off guard.

Orders & Payment
Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. You can use that number on the UPS or FedEx website to follow your package in real time. If you haven't received a tracking email within 2 business days of ordering, please email us or give us a call.
We process orders fast — many ship the same day! If you need to make a change or cancel, contact us as soon as possible by calling (817) 823-0010. If the order hasn't shipped yet, we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
